January 16, 2010

We have just completed our first week of summer school. Usually the very first week is hectic and crazy because of the kids and house moms getting use to the routine and all the changes that needs to be made to make things run smoother. Well this past week was no different. My roommate, Sarah is in charge of summer school and I am her handy dandy assistant to help keep things flowing for her. We had some really great times with the kids and they were all excited for summer school to start. THE MOST IMPORTANT thing everyone was excited about was being able to swim in the pool. Even though most of the week has been cool and "rainy" it didn't stop our kids from swimming in the pool. The older boys from Pachacamac also joined in with us two days this past week to participate and to also enjoy pool time. The last day of summer school this week Sarah had the kids take a trip to the lake near by to watch the ducks and fish and just to get away from the home for a bit.

Things are going well, I'm teaching some health classes and life guarding in the afternoons, but please continue to pray for us here in Peru as the summer continues and that the kids will enjoy their summer school and that things will run smoothly but most of all that the kids will either come to know Jesus as their Lord and Savior or that they will grow in their walk with Jesus.
